Commissioner Position Available

The East Schodack Fire District is seeking interested candidates to fill a vacancy in the role of Fire Commissioner. This position will be appointed for the remainder of 2026 and then up for election for the 2027 term, to fulfill the remainder of the current position’s five-year term. This is an elected, voluntary position with no financial compensation.

Eligible candidates must be a resident of the East Schodack Fire District and must be at least 18 years old. Candidates must be able to attend monthly meetings and scheduled workshops. Candidates must also have basic knowledge of business finances and be able to work with vendors regarding equipment, supplies, insurance, etc. The ability and willingness to work respectfully and collaboratively with other commissioners on a range of topics, including potentially sensitive issues, is essential.
